Hancock County unemployment falls to 5.8% | Business
FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) – Unemployment fell by nearly half a percentage point in Hancock County in March.
The jobless rate fell to 5.8 percent, down from 6.2 percent a month earlier.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services estimates there are 37,500 employed Hancock County residents, with 2,300 still looking for work.
Hancock County’s unemployment rate is below where it was in March of 2012, when the county sat at 6.4 percent unemployment. The county is also below the statewide average for unemployment, which was reported at 7.6 percent in March.
