FINDLAY, OH (PRESS RELEASE) – United Way of Hancock County’s Halt Hunger Initiative is organizing an event to package 285,000 meals for food insecure families and individuals in Hancock County.  The “Meals of Hope” packaging event will take place on Sat., May 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Findlay High School cafeteria.

Approximately 800 volunteers will be needed to accomplish the task and an additional 30 volunteers will be needed as lead volunteer event staff. Individuals who are interested in being lead volunteer event staff will need to attend training on Fri., May 11 from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Findlay High School cafeteria. Other volunteers for the day of event will simply show up at the time they are assigned and will be trained on-site.

FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) – Unemployment in Hancock County fell almost two percentage points in March.  County wide unemployment fell from 8.4 percent in February to 6.5 percent in March.
