Employee sentenced for role in movie theatre robbery | Crime
FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) - Corderro Phoenix, a former employee at the Carmike Cinemas in Findlay, was sentenced for his role in a 2011 robbery there Thursday.
Phoenix was convicted of taking part in a robbery involving two juveniles. Police say he and two juveniles worked together to steal more than $3,000 from the cinema. The two teenagers approached Phoenix and a female employee with a knife and painted air soft gun late one night when they were leaving the theatres. The teens demanded money belonging to the cinema in the robbery.
Phoenix was sentenced to 6 months in jail and ordered to repay the stolen money. He was given credit for 53 days served.
The juveniles, who were 15 at the time of the robbery, each pleaded guilty to a first degree felony charge of aggravated robbery and received a suspended stay of incarceration.
