Police: Findlay woman tried to smuggle marijuana into jail | Crime
FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) - A Findlay woman was arrested after police say she passed marijuana to a jail inmate.
Lesley Hernandez, 36, was arrested at the London Correctional Institution on Thursday, May 9. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says she passed 9.9 grams of marijuana to an inmate. That contraband would be worth about $400 in prison, the patrol says.
Troopers received a tip that Hernandez was planning the crime, and observed her visit to stop the inmate from receiving the marijuana. Both Hernandez and the inmate were arrested after the hand-off.
Hernandez was taken to the Tri-County Regional Jail and charged with attempting to convey illegal drugs into a correctional facility, a third-degree felony.
