FINDLAY, OH (PRESS RELEASE) - The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation has announced that tickets are now available to see Lisa Genova, author of the best-selling novel “Still Alice.” Genova will be in Findlay on Friday, March 2 as part of the 10th annual CommunityREAD event and will speak at the Central Auditorium at 7 p.m. She will be available to sign books after the program.

Owens dental program to offer free dental services to children during ‘Give Kids a Smile Day’ Feb. 3

PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH (PRESS RELEASE) – Oral hygiene, X-rays and fillings will be the focus of free dental appointments at Owens Community College as more than 150 area elementary and high school students’ teeth are transformed to pearly whites during the nationwide Give Kids A Smile Day on Friday, Feb. 3.

Owens’ Dental Hygiene program, in collaboration with the Toledo Dental Society, will be offering a day of free dental services for children with limited or no access to care ages six months to 18 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m. at the College’s Dental Hygiene Clinic. The clinic is located in Health Technologies Hall on the Toledo-area Campus.

FINDLAY, OH (PRESS RELEASE) – The Marilyn & Gordon Macklin Intergenerational Institute (Macklin Institute) is offering a professional development in-service on “Child Abuse Recognition & Prevention” on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 6:00pm-9:00pm. The training will be held in the Hub, located at Birchaven Village, 15100 Birchaven Lane, Findlay, Ohio. Costs are $30 for the refresher course and $40 for the entire course. All session fees are due at the time of registration and are non-refundable. CE’s for this training have been approved by Blanchard Valley Health Association.
