FINDLAY, OH (PRESS RELEASE) - After a summer of severe weather disasters that caused millions of dollars of damage and claimed hundreds of lives across the United States, the American Red Cross Hancock County Chapter wants to help families be prepared for winter weather emergencies. The American Red Cross Hancock County Chapter will be showing local families how to prepare for weather-related disasters at free programs in Findlay, Arlington and McComb.

Red Cross reaches out to flood victims

Red Cross reaches out to flood victims

The American Red Cross Hancock County Chapter has begun outreach services in neighborhoods affected by the flooding of the Blanchard River.  Red Cross mobile units in Findlay are distributing free meals and clean up kits to those affected by the flood.  Also, the Red Cross Wyandot District office will set up a distribution point at the Carey Fire Department, 127 E. North St., to distribute free clean up kits for those whose homes were affected by the flood. Kits may be picked up on Wednesday from 2:00 – 8:00 pm on and 10:00am – 6:00pm on Thursday.

ISOH/IMPACT reaches out to flood victims

As melting snow and heavy rains begin to cause flooding in Northwest Ohio and many area throughout the United States, ISOH/IMPACT is not only ready with immediate assistance, but also accepting donations of relief supplies to remain prepared for the rainy season ahead.

In addition to accepting monetary donations to assist with the relief effort, ISOH/IMPACT is encouraging individuals, families, businesses, churches and community groups to join The Bucket Brigade.
